This June was .. certainly eventful honestly. I don't truly know where to start. June however DID start off with a bang, because on June 2nd was when I saw the queen herself Marina preform in Cardiff and The Depot venue. I have been a massive fan of Marina since 2014, she was my childhood honestly and it was such an insane fucking surreal experience finally watching her live.
If you'd like to hear more specific details about the concert itself? Then I dunno, I'm working on trying to document all the concerts I've been to but thats very slow going.
But June 4th, I went back home to my dad's house for the rest of the month. I was meant to get some university work done, god i only was able to get a few bits of research and writing done. I do have one month left (July 31st) so i am trying to complete what i can for now. The rest of the month has been spent just trying to recover from burn out, relax and soak in baby brother cuddles.
Talking about babies!! Whilst i already met my baby brother 16th of May, this was the first time properly he's met me. As when i first met him, he was 3 weeks old and essentially a sack of potatoes, but today marks 10 weeks!! And he's already smiling, already cooing and exploring his voice. It's so cute, and it's making me not only super excited to see his development over the next few months, and also super excited for my own little one …. but that's a future dream for now.
Things i have consumed:
I have consumed a few things this month, so lets go slowly, shall we?
Iron Lung (2026)
I finally got to re-watch this absolute fucking masterpiece of a film after seeing it in cinemas with a friend back on the 20th of January 2026. I watched it in the dark, headphones on at like 3:00AM and it was just as good, maybe even better than the first watch. An absolute incredible film, and i cannot wait to see what Markiplier has in store for us in the future.

Dracula Untold (2014) June 12th
Now this film was … interesting? I watched it in the living room with my dad, stepmum and leo. And as a vampire fanatic, it was an okaaaaaay film. I wasn't truly paying attention as i was just honestly bored as fuck, all i remember it turning back and seeing the main guy absolutely fuck his wife with so much vigor .. truly awkward xD
My dad enjoyed this film a LOT, but honestly, that dude loves anything that involves overpowered characters.

Underworld (2003) June 12th
I watched this straight after the other one with my dad, as he saw it on prime and freaked out since he saw this film back in 2003 …. and did i like this film? Yes. Yes. This is such a campy film, and i fucking LOVE camp. I love how serious this film took itself, and i adored the overall colour grading of this film. Even if i didn't truly understand the plot and needed my dad to explain it to me often. Hoping in July that i get to the watch the rest of the films, maybe get the DVD's in the future? Who knows.

Midsommar (2019) June 13th
THIS was a rewatch. I watched it alone, during the day. I've seen this film more fucking times than i can count. I adore this film, it is one of my FAVOURITE psychological horror films in the entire world, and even after .. what 7 years since it came out, i'm still finding out new details. Still figuring out how new dots connect to others. Maybe one day i'll do an actual like anaylisis of this film as i think it is such a masterpiece. Absolutely fucking perfect.

Edge of Tomorrow (2014) June 20th
I watched this with dad, stepmum and leo!! It was a pretty good film honestly, though … the first 15 minutes were spent being explained the plot by stepmum and dad because i STILL didn't fully understand what the fuck was going on. Bonus points because Emily Blunt was really hot in this film (when isnt she!?).
★★★★☆
The Sheep Detective (2026) June 27th
Ok .. Ok so i didn't expect to adore this film. It was really cute, and whilst i normally do not watch many whodunits … it was a really good film, i'd 100% rewatch this in July. I watched this with my dad and leo, as my stepmum was at work. This film get extra bonus points because it has been a … while since me and my dad have been able to truly have father/daughter time. I really enjoyed this, plus it was even MORE enjoyable because leoncito was being extra cute.
and bonus points because george the winter sheep was cute.

Master of The Universe (2026) June 27th
Also watched with dad and leoncito, but this time he was wide awake and in his play pen. I didn't really care for this film as i really wasn't the target audience for this, my dad however - he was. he most certainly was. He was born in '78 lol, he kept telling me about the toys he had of this franchise and explaining to me what each character did. The only criticism of this movie i have is that i felt like it moved pretty fast? but either way, it was a fun watch, and im really glad there was no stupid romance lol between the main girl and the main man.

What was i obsessed with this month!?
My main obsession this week was strangely DJ-ing, i don't know why. I mean i know i adore EDM and i've always loooooved watch DJ sets on youtube (like boiler room) but i think i've actually been so bored this entire June that i randomly took up DJ-ing for like a good two weeks? I even downloaded the programme Virtual DJ, though i never truly made anything good. I did have fun experimenting though, as i've always been interested in playing around with music in some shape or form.
In terms of other obsessions? According to Youtube Music + Airbuds my current on repeat songs are:
- Lemonade by AESPA
- Butterfly by Marina
- Supernova by AESPA
- Princess of Power by Marina
- I <3 You by Marina
- Attitude by Fromis_9
- Focus by Hearts2Hearts
- Whiplash by AESPA
- Fame is A Gun by Addison Rae
My top number one album this month? Marina's Princess of Power, such a great album. Now on to TV shows and Movies? none, i havent watched music TV nor rewatched a bunch of the same movies .. like i said very very lame and boring June so far.
Conclusion!?
Honestly, this month .. whilst it has been really fun - there's also been a lot of bad. a lot of tears. There's been issues with my stepmum, and i've been wanting to spend more time with my dad, more 1:1. But unfortunately, it wasn't something i could get, not with his girlfriend home due to maternity leave but honestly? I haven't had proper 1:1 uninterrupted time with my dad since i was 17? I think? We went to the cinema together for my 17th birthday to watch Uncharted in the cinemas, and since since idk. I understand couples need their time together, and that he needs to spend time with his son but it also kinda makes me feel upset? if that makes sense. I dont have a mum, i dont have any other family apart from my grandparents who live in an entirely different continent.
There's been so many moments where i want my dad, but i can't have him. I get like maybe a few minutes a day of interaction with him. Especially with second year of university being so difficult, i didn't feel safe enough to be able to call him. Even when he says im allowed, i don't feel like i am. He's always with her, and idk it bothers me a little. I wish i didn't feel like this, like a child needed her dada but ugh god sorry that was so cringe of me to write. im 21 for gods sake lol, i need to grow up an accept that i shouldn't have my dad anymore, that his focus is on his girlfriend and son now.
Sorrry i didnt mean to make this June recap to get so .. sad. I kinda just needed to vent i suppose, and i dont wanna lie and tell you all that June was SoOooooOOOO fun, when it doesnt.
Written 1st of July, i was just too lazy to post.
